For the last couple of years I've been turning into a bit of a hobbyist photographer. My wife bought this super expensive camera for her class....and well... I basically stole it and started learning how to use it (sorry my love).

I love getting great shots that I can submit for our annual town calendar photo contest. Basically, locals take and submit great images that get voted on and potentially published in this calendar. For me, it's a neat way to get involved in our town eco-system, so to speak. Sounds silly, I know, but it's fun. I've also started enjoying getting great images of wildlife, landscapes, architecture, and if I get super bored I try to get creative with some abstract type stuff.

TL;DR - the moral of this post is to just share my new interest in this site called Unsplash. It's a really neat site that allows users to submit awesome high res images that are published under the creative commons license. I created an account and started to upload some of my images (only 1 as of the date of this article, but more to come soon). If you get bored, feel free to check out my work and let me know what you think. I always enjoy good feedback, whether it's good or constructive....obviously bad feedback sucks, but I'll still listen. Regardless, check out the site if you like photography or need some great images for a site. Not to mention, they have an API that you can work with as well.

Enjoy.
